As an example, let’s talk about the story of the Oralmans-Immigrants that are Kazakh ethnicity who come from another country. This story tells about the government of Kazakhstan, that it has a special ethnicity program “Oralman” based on people whose nationality is Kazakh but they are living in another country.  read more »

Visit of Tatyana Goryachova

On 10 April, Ukrainian journalist Tatyana Goryachova visited our class. Actually, first impression was just ordinary women. But, I was surprised at her unordinary story. It was known me what is the real world. Also her presentation was unordinary because I can’t learn in the text book what she presented. For example, she talked about 3 styles of mass media. That is media of independent, media about political parties and commerce media. In the real world, commerce of media style and media about political parties was bought by businessman and politicians.  read more »

Visit of Tatyana Goryachova

Before I saw her I had thought that she hadn't spoken Russian or had spoken it in a bad way - and I was pretty surprised. After her presentation I didn't change my mind - as it was supposed by me. Even her "hot" speech didn't compel me to review me opinion that it is, actually, "dead" deal - to be a journalist. Because there is no 3rd way - or you write what you are told to write or you are dead. Because nowadays there are 3 kinds of Mass Media: independent (which includes opposition), government and commercial (as it is in Ukraine, as Tatyana Goryachova said).  read more »

Olympic Torch in Almaty: Tight Control

Citizens of Kazakhstan consider it an honor to welcome the arrival of the Olympic torch, since it arrives for the first time and Almaty is the first point in the route. By the way, the route includes such advanced large cities as Istanbul, Saint Petersburg, London, Paris, San Francisco, Kuala Lumpur and others, although Almaty is the first point after Beijing! These facts of no small importance imply that Kazakhstan enjoys China’s confidence and the honor of greeting of the Olympic torch is pretty expressive gesture, what means that most likely China has designs on Kazakhstan.  read more »
